We are so fortunate to have a creative and compassionate community supporting the youth of Eva’s. We’ve seen some unique and exciting ways of giving back this year and wanted to share them with you!
Flash Tattoo Sale
In January Ink and Water Tattoo did a flash sale on tattoos where half of the proceeds supported youth at Eva’s. The tattoos for a flash sale are designed by a particular artist and tattooed as they are in the drawing.
Ink and Water frequently does flash sales in support of various charities and donates the proceeds to SKETCH in Toronto year round.
Artists for Change
On February 4th, Michelle Newman Music and young, local artists came together to put on a night of excellent music. Attendees got to enjoy talent, food and drink at The Uptown Loft.
Day 1 of 2 Studio Dayz! Today we worked with 4 of the unbelievable 13 Artists being featured in @michellenewmanmusic Artist For Change Showcase on Feb 4th. Link to Tix in BIO All of our performers are working on something special in studio for you!!! Can’t wait to share the finished product. #charity #musicforchange #stayhumble #staykind #giftofsong #musicheals
After the event, Michelle Newman sold an exclusive CD of the performance songs with the additional money raised coming to Eva’s in support of homeless youth. You can listen to it here.
Being able to give back with your talent and creative energy is such a cool way to do social good! But you can turn anything you’re passionate about into a simple but involved way of giving back.
NHL Playoff Parties
This is where you come in! Will you be hosting an NHL playoff party? We can think of three easy ways you can turn a fun time with friends into a meaningful event that benefits homeless youth;
- Have guests pay a ‘donate what you can’ entrance fee
- Encourage guests to bring a small donation instead of snacks
- ‘Compete’ in the spirit of rooting for your favorite team and see who can raise the most money – bragging rights included for the winner.
Either way, post a pic of the event and tag us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter @evasinitiatives.
